Trans Day Remembrance is... TODAY!!!

TAG TEAM, Irvine Queers, and other community resources, members, and allies will gather at the anteater steps for a night of education, speakers, a candlelight vigil, and a speakout. Those who complete their bingo card by visiting all of the tables will receive a free raffle ticket!

The Transgender Day of Remembrance is a national day set aside to memorialize those have been victims of transphobic violence. This year, our event hopes to call attention to the multiple forms of violence that affect the lives of gender-variant individuals. This includes the violence of language, state-sanctioned violence, and interpersonal physical violence, as well as other forms of violence. Our event also hopes to emphasize the intersectionality of transgender identity, and therefore the different forms of violence that gender variant individuals face depending on their unique experiences.
